How long have you been crossfitting?
February was 2 years.
How did you get referred to MO2DT?
Myself! I did a Google search for places and this came up first. I completed foundations at the downtown location, then started off as a 6:00 a.m. “regular”.
What is your favorite movement or lift that we do in CrossFit?
Power cleans. It used to be back squats, but definitely power cleans now.
What CF accomplishment are you most proud of?
Muscle ups. I’ve gotten bar and ring now.
What's your 9-5 (job)?
I am the official Onboarding Manager for Eurofins for all of North America.
Other than CrossFit, what else do you like to do in your free time?
I like to bike and go out! I love draft beer. I love biking to draft beer. I enjoy traveling. I’m going to New York this weekend and I’m going to Europe in May.
What keeps you coming back each day?
The fact that it’s always different. I love that about CrossFit-it’s always varied. It keeps you out of that “routine” of doing the same workout every day.
Who constantly encourages/motivates you during WODs?
Coach Kristen. She is the Wednesday night 6:00 p.m. coach. I think I got both my muscle ups after her classes. She is the one that expects a little more out of me. Also, just the whole 6:30 group, like Tom L. and Andy K.
What is your favorite meal?
Chinese food-specifically sesame chicken and broccoli. I like to go to the HyVee Chinese downtown because it is right by my house.
What or who has challenged you to be better or played a key role in helping you develop a new skill?
Coach Kory is always coaching before and after classes. He helps me with power lifting and presses.
What is one of your favorite things about MO2DT?
The community. Everyone is so friendly here.
