How long have you been crossfitting?
I’ve been CrossFitting since high school, so about 6 years on and off. I’ve been with MO2DT since January.
How did you get referred to MO2DT?
The owner of the CrossFit gym in my hometown, Knoxville, recommended me.
What is your favorite movement or lift that we do in CrossFit?
Probably kipping pull-ups, now that I can do them!
What CF accomplishment are you most proud of?
Being able to finish workouts “RX”. I’m doing that more consistently now, and just seeing that as obtainable now, is refreshing.
What's your 9-5 (job)?
I’m an account coordinator at Two Rivers Marketing.
Other than CrossFit, what else do you like to do in your free time?
Volleyball. Watch movies. Hang out with my cat.
What keeps you coming back each day?
Probably the people and the community. It’s really welcoming here. Also, the improvements I see in myself. I just feel better when I’m working out.
Who constantly encourages/motivates you during WODs?
The atmosphere, definitely. Everyone is so encouraging. I’ve always been an athlete, so I’m used to working out in a group. I’ve found that it keeps me motivated-I don’t think I could consistently workout by myself and enjoy it.
What’s one thing we might not know about you?
I had breakfast with Barack Obama when he was the President.
What healthy habits have you developed that seem to help you during WODS?
Drinking more water. Also, at work I make it a point to get up and move around throughout the day rather than just sit for long periods of time and have CrossFit be the only movement/activity I get in. Being more active full time has helped.
What’s your favorite meal?
My grandma’s chicken and noodles.
What are you most looking forward to doing in Des Moines this summer?
Farmer’s market. I’m going to drag my boyfriend there whether he likes it or not!
